Welcome to this workshop, 'What might a Successful academic extension program 'look like' in the current school context?" This workshop will share my experiences in creating a valuable, coherent and comprehensive program targeting the needs of gifted and talented students in junior schools to Year 6.

As a way of orienting this workshop, please understand that my background as a primary educator range from teaching in single gender schools, private and public institutions, single and composite level classrooms, religious and non-denominational schools and those proferring CSF/KLA/AC and PYP curricula over 26 years. I know you're here to hear more about the A-Z guide, so we'll begin.

If you'll look either over your workshop notes or the associated link to my blog 'thepegasonian.blogspot.com.au' I'd like to share with you the A-Z guide. I'm always keen to develop professional friendships with like-minded professionals that share my enthusiasm for finding and using state-of-the-art and futureproof extension resources. During this workshop I'll use terms such as 'gifted', 'talented', '2E', 'extension' and 'advanced' students- I understand these students have varied academic, behavioral and social requirements and will try to make distinctions as often as possible ... this workshop will look at techniques and tools for assisting educators to put teaching theories into practice. The A-Z guide you have in front of you will allow you to tailor-make an A-Z guide for your own school, in the hope you can share this idea with schools in your network and area.

Let's get started by looking at the current school context.
