What a terrific series of events, seminars and workshops at the WCGTC conference this week!
Most exciting however has been discussing current GnT trends with people from Saudi Arabia (hello Faisal), China (hello Michelle and Brydon), USA (hi Connie and Sarah) and England (hi Ian).
Fascinating things... - an emerging trend of the term GTC, not GnT, to encompass those children with creative traits, not necessarily covered as talents or gifts - the wide use of Renzoulii's model as the benchmark for defining the term 'gifted' - the study of frustration and underachievement in the USA - eTips, a free web and email service providing GnT learning plans and activities - the assessment models for creativity, which i never though could or would be assess-able - the 'excellence' model at MacRobertson school lead by Toni Meares (hi Toni!) - the chance to here different standards for measuring intelligence and giftedness in the Arabic states
